Sally & Nick's Traditional Wedding in Samos

How did you two meet and where did the proposal take place?

Nick and I have known each other since we were teenagers and met up again in Tesco's on a sunny August Bank Holiday!!! Nik proposed to me in Samos whilst we were on holiday there in 2008.

Why did you choose Greece and Samos for your wedding?

Because Samos was where Nik proposed to me and we loved the village where we stayed. Also, Nik comes from Greek Heritage so we thought it would be lovely to get married in Greece. Plus - we love Greece and would go back anytime.

Was it your first time to Samos? What did you think?

2nd time in Samos - absolutely love it and we are going back again this year for our wedding anniversary. Samos was just the kinds of quiet and picturesque Greek Island that we love and we liked the fact that the resort we stayed in was unspoilt and had very few tourists - just what we wanted for a relaxing holiday.

How did you prepare for your wedding in Greece? Was it what you expected?

As it was just the two of us there was very little to do except buy my wedding dress and give a list of my requirements to Ionian Weddings. Our wedding was exactly what I wanted and more...

Please describe the most memorable moment from your big day.

When Nik took my face in his hands and kissed me at the ceremony.

Is there anything quirky or funny that reminds you of your Greek wedding Experience?

Our wedding coordinator was amusing and a little eccentric but was thorough, got all the necessary things done for us on time and made us laugh when we went to collect out wedding certificate the day after we got married from the local town hall and fell asleep whilst waiting!!!

What advice would you give to other brides considering getting married in Greece?

Do it - you will have the most magical, wonderful and stress free day of your life. Plan exactly what you want for your day and Ionian Weddings will do the rest. From a beach wedding to the town hall you can have you choice of venues and that is what I liked about having the freedom to choose.
