By choosing to have their wedding in the Ionian Islands of Corfu, Paxos, Lefkas, Kefalonia, Ithaca and Zakynthos, our couples are truly blessed by spending their special day in some of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterannean Sea. Rich in culture, flora and fauna, the Ionian Islands are also a haven for many rare creatures such as the Mediterannean Monk Seal (Monachus Monachus) and Caretta Caretta loggerhead sea turtle.
Ionian Weddings promote responsible tourism, make contributions to local wildlife and preservation projects and believe that local communities and wildlife should benefit from tourism. To this extent, we support local conservation and protection initiatives and make donations towards such good causes. In Zakynthos, we issue guidelines to all our wedding couples on how to safeguard the caretta caretta species in the water and their eggs on the beach.
We donate part of our profits to non-profit organisations run by volunteers promoting and protecting the culture and environment of the region and the identity of the Greek islands. We also support small local charities based at the islands such as the Agni Animal Welfare Fund in Corfu. The Aegean islands have also a wealth of distinct flora and fauna species and cultural characteristics worth protecting. Following the launch of our Spinaloga weddings in Crete, we are also supporting LEPRA, the charity that aims restore health, hope and dignity to people affected by leprosy and other diseases of poverty.
